Adversity improves performance...the simple formula for success
That time that Henry Ford said: "When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” he was on to something. At our Gilpin Football practices...we use a big hill behind our field to create a hard and intimidating workout. We call it Adversity Hill. The boys on my team gladly run to the hill when it's our time to raise our level of fitness...overcoming adversity. We have seen great progress with our team over the years and I do believe that pointing out and teaching my boys the value of overcoming bad luck pays dividends. You have to learn and always strive to improve as a player and person...with no excuses.

Classroom Quote:
There is nothing better than adversity to improve your performance over time. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance the next time.
