Staying positive about your situation is a must. Keeping your players away from negative influences at the school has to be a priority if we are going to build any sustainable success. One of the ways that I’m trying to guild my players as it relates to staying focused on our goals is by making sure that we spend most of our time during and after school with our teammates. Contagions work both ways, and if our players spend too much time with unmotivated students or uninspiring grownups, we will be introduced to problems that can be hard to overcome.
I want to focus more on building team activities outside of practice and during the off-season that can have a positive influence on my kids. I want my kids to be leaders in the school. I want to promote positive contagions, teaching the virtues of the team. Surround yourself with positive and inspiring people while learning to avoid those with limiting benefits. I want to envelop my kids in an environment of high expectations while at the same time teaching them to dodge those that display low achievement and negativity.
